
THE Sarawak Marine Police seized RM6.22 mil worth of frozen imported meat in Bintulu town in northern Sarawak.
The assortment of meat was suspected to be smuggled into Sarawak via Bintulu for sales in this state, said Sarawak Marine Police Region 5 commander Rusdin Banin.
The seizure was carried out recently at a premises in the town used as a storage facility, he said in a statement.
A local man has been arrested in the raid, he said.
This is the second major bust of smuggled meat in Bintulu in the past two months.
