Sarawak shines with two diving golds while Terengganu sets a national record as Selangor leads the 2026 SUKMA medal tally

KUALA LUMPUR: The 2026 Selangor Malaysia Games (SUKMA) continued to serve up some tough battles today, with several contingents achieving notable successes, including Sarawak capturing two gold medals in diving and Terengganu setting a new national record in track cycling.

At the Selangor Aquatics Centre in Shah Alam, Sarawak bagged the women’s synchronised 3-metre (m) springboard and men’s 10m platform gold medals.

Nur Eilisha Rania Muhammad Abrar Raj and Dayang Nursharzyra Awang Nasaruddin combined to defend their women’s synchronised 3m springboard title with 221.01 points.

Elvis Priestly Clement then handed Sarawak their second diving gold when he triumphed in the men’s 10m platform event with 397.30 points, leaving teammate Jared Aiden Harold to take silver and Sabah’s Muhammad Anilrian Normatrud Abdullah the bronze.

The victory saw Elvis claim his third gold medal at the Games, having earlier won the men’s synchronised 3m springboard and synchronised 10m platform titles alongside Jared.

His three-gold feat has made him one of Sarawak’s standout divers at this year’s SUKMA.

In track cycling at the National Velodrome in Nilai, the Terengganu women’s quartet of Nur Aeirin Wadhiah Mohd Adni, Nur Aieris Madhiah Mohd Adni, Dahlia Hazwani Hasyim and Ameera Alya Md Zahiruddin ended an eight-year wait to win gold in the team pursuit in style, by also setting a new national record.

The Terengganu quartet first broke the national record by clocking 4 minutes 46.824 seconds (s) in the qualifying round before going even faster in the final with a time of 4:42.878s.

Sarawak also created history in track cycling when Adib Andhar Andan emerged champion in men’s keirin, delivering the state its first-ever gold medal in the event since its participation in SUKMA.

Meanwhile, hosts Selangor continue to lead the medal tally with a haul of 75 golds, 57 silvers and 51 bronzes, followed by Terengganu (37-38-31) and Federal Territories (35-39-36).
