Kota Kinabalu: Sabah continues to strengthen its international relations and cooperation when Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor received a courtesy call from Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Malaysia, Osamah Dakhei R Al Ahmadi, at Menara Kinabalu, here, Thursday.
The courtesy call was Osamah’s first meeting with Hajiji since he was appointed Ambassador and began his duties early this year.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on the importance of strengthening existing relations, as well as exploring new areas of potential cooperation that could contribute to Sabah’s development and progress.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the potential to strengthen Malaysia-Finland relations and cooperation, particularly in areas that could benefit Sabah.
Among the areas highlighted were sustainable development, technology, innovation and the green economy, in line with Sabah’s efforts to expand its international cooperation network and attract quality investments.
Sabah also has experience in exploring Finland’s approaches in innovation, sustainability and the circular economy, including through a previous study visit by senior State Government officials to Helsinki.
Both courtesy calls reflected the State Government’s commitment to continue expanding ties with international partners and identifying strategic cooperation opportunities that can add value to Sabah’s development and progress.
