French technology company Schneider Electric on Monday announced a strategic collaboration with Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision, also known as Foxconn, to develop next-generation AI data centre infrastructure.
Production is expected to begin later this year, Schneider Electric said in a statement.
"Together, the companies aim to deliver integrated, ready-to-deploy solutions that enable customers to build and operate AI infrastructure with greater speed, efficiency, and predictability across regions," it said.
The partnership combines Foxconn's expertise in advanced compute platforms, AI rack integration and manufacturing with Schneider Electric's capabilities in power systems, cooling and energy management, according to the statement.
The collaboration will focus on developing reference architectures for AI data centres and exploring innovations in energy optimization, modular power and cooling systems, as well as standardized design frameworks.
Foxconn is a multinational electronics manufacturer headquartered in Taipei, while Schneider Electric, which is based just outside Paris, specializes in energy technology, among other areas.
