School toilets fixed – two days after pupil complains to PMX

THE toilets in SK Long Jaafar were fixed just two days after a pupil complained directly to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during the prime minister's visit to the Kamunting Ramadan Bazaar in Ipoh.

Anwar's political secretary, Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim said the repairs have been fully completed.

He shared the updates on his social media platform yesterday.

"The prime minister consistently reminds all members of the Madani government to engage with the public directly and address urgent concerns swiftly," he said.

Netizens had earlier praised the little boy for his courage when he complained directly to Anwar about his school's unusable toilets.

The incident took place when the prime minister was visiting the Ramadan bazaar on March 14.

In the 28-second video, the pupil is seen seriously complaining to Anwar about the state of the toilets in SK Long Jafaar.

Amused and holding back a smile, Anwar said he was going to call Fadhlina (Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek) about the matter.

"Two toilets are broken, two can still be used. I'll have to call Fadhlina later," Anwar said.

Fadhlina herself later responded in the comments after hearing her name mentioned by the prime minister.

"Ok PMX, heard my name being summoned," she quipped.

Netizens praised the boy for his courage, while some also jokingly said that several people may be 'losing sleep' after the incident. - March 20, 2025
