Tiger Woods was involved in a road traffic incident on Friday last week and the fallout of that has been extremely sad to see.

Woods is one of the two greatest golfers in the history of the game, with 82 PGA Tour titles and 15 major championships to his name.

However, the 50-year-old is clearly a flawed genius, just like many superstars have been in the past.

Woods has been practicing as normal despite his recent DUI arrest, but it’s very clear to see that he needs to focus on his own physical and mental health right now.

Playing in The Masters again can wait.

What is important right now is that Woods himself realizes the severity of the situation he is currently in.

Scott Van Pelt gives his honest opinion on Tiger Woods’ current situation

Woods’ car crash on Friday stunned the golfing world.

There have been numerous high profile reactions to the incident, including President Donald Trump’s two statements on Woods.

And now, legendary sports presenter Scott Van Pelt has had his say on the matter.

When speaking during an ESPN Masters Week special, Scott Van Pelt responded when asked to give his opinion on Tiger Woods’ current situation.

A week ago I was down at TGL in SoFi, Van Pelt said.

And Tiger and Rory were so instrumental in creating that next incarnation of the game of golf. Whatever people viewed that as, he has a club in his hands and is competing and there is an excitement, and maybe we will see him next week.

But I have to be honest, after what happened, I don’t care if I see him next week. As much as I care about the human being I have known for all these years is well, but whatever needs to happen I hope it does.

He is going through a significant loss last year with his Mum. He is going through a vicious cycle of injuries and rehab and the toll that it takes. It’s another accident which you don’t want him or others to get hurt.

I don’t know how close or tight that circle is around Tiger, I just know it’s incredibly tight. And I hope that whoever is close enough to him to have whatever conversation needs to be had about whatever help might be needed, I hope that is had and I hope it resonates.

Because truly as much fun as has been to watch Tiger through the years, I have got to know the man as a human being and I care about him as a human being and that really is my only concern at this point.

The rest is the rest, the golf is the golf, but that’s not as important as the human who I have gotten to know.

Curtis Strange gives his take on Tiger Woods

Two-time U.S. Open champion Curtis Strange was alongside Van Pelt during ESPN’s Masters Week special.

Strange was also asked what he makes of Woods’ current situation.

He still has a lot to offer the game just by being out there, he offers a great deal, Strange said.

We wish him well. You hate to see anybody in a situation that is tough and struggling.

He has proven to be a very strong man and we hope that he comes through this.

Everyone involved with the game of golf wants to see Woods get better, both physically and mentally.

However, he will have to admit that he has a problem first, before anything changes.

The entire golfing world is pulling for Tiger Woods. However, he has to stop getting behind the wheel, if he is to receive the continued support of everyone.
