
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Economic Development Corporation (Sedco) appointed new chairpersons for subsidiaries, Lahad Datu Flour Mill Sdn Bhd (LDFM) and Sedco Precast Sdn Bhd.
Ir. Rajesh Yusof was appointed chairman of Lahad Datu Flour Mill Sdn Bhd, while Datuk Ir. Yong Wui Chung was appointed chairman of Sedco Precast Sdn Bhd.
The appointment letters were presented by Sedco chairman Datuk Masiung Banah at a ceremony attended by senior management from both subsidiaries.
Masiung congratulated the two newly appointed chairpersons and said their experience and leadership would be important in improving the companies’ performance and competitiveness.
He said close coordination between the boards of directors and management was important to ensure that the companies’ strategic direction and operations remained aligned.
“The vision, mission and strategic direction of the companies must be aligned between the board and management. Strong cooperation is important to improve performance and ensure sustainable growth,” he said.
Masiung also urged both subsidiaries to improve operational performance, increase profitability and explore new business opportunities in line with their role as government-linked companies (GLCs) in Sabah’s economic development.
The ceremony was attended by Sedco Group General Manager Datuk Ar. James Wong Kein Peing and Sedco Deputy General Manager Azrul Haji Ahmad.
Lahad Datu Flour Mill was represented by General Manager Foo Jen Wei and Interflour East Malaysia General Manager Jason Yap Ket Loong.
Sedco Precast was represented by board member Datin Ku Shui Fong, Managing Director and General Manager Shiu Vay Leung, as well as Yok Kim Song and Loyd Edmund Duodilim.
