
SEMPORNA: Two men – a skipper and a passenger – were killed when their speedboat collided with a boat carrying 12 tourists in the waters of Balimbang, near here, Monday.
District Police Chief Supt Mohd Sabri Zainol said the tourist boat was heading towards Pulau Mabul when it collided with the speedboat at 9.45am.
AdvertisementHe said the speedboat’s skipper and passenger went missing after being thrown into the sea following the collision.
“Search and rescue efforts were conducted by the public and the two victims, aged 45 and 50, were found lifeless underwater,” he said.

Read more He added that both victims were taken to the hospital for post mortem to determine the cause of death and an investigation paper has been opened under Section 304 of the Penal Code.
