
SEMPORNA: A man was killed when the Nissan Urvan van he was driving collided with a Toyota Vigo at KM51 of Jalan Kalumpang, Semporna-Tawau, Thursday.
The Chief of the Semporna Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), Madzlan Sarman, said his team managed to extricate both victims using Road Traffic Accident (RTA) equipment.
AdvertisementHe said the driver of the Toyota Vigo sustained severe injuries.
Both victims were trapped in their respective vehicles.

However, the van driver, believed to be in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical team.

It was reported that the van driver was traveling from Semporna to Tawau, while the Vigo driver was heading from Tawau to Semporna.

The operation concluded at 8.50am, after ensuring there were no further hazards at the scene.
