
SEMPORNA: At least 103 houses and 20 vehicles were affected when storm and strong winds impacted three villages here – Kg Selamat, Kg Seri Aman and Kg Sejati.
Semporna Fire and Rescue Department Chief, Madzlan Sarman, said in Kg Selamat, 68 houses, five vehicles and a mosque sustained damage.
AdvertisementThe mosque’s dome in the village had dislodged. Among the affected houses, eight were completely destroyed.
In Kg Seri Aman, 11 houses and 15 various vehicles were impacted, with one house reported to have collapsed during the incident. Vehicles impacted by strong winds in Semporna.

“The Fire Department received an emergency call at 6.21am through the MERS999 hotline,” said Madzlan.

Additionally, eight personnel from the Semporna Atas Air Fire Station were deployed to the affected areas for monitoring purposes.
