SEMPORNA: A house in Kg Bukit Lalang, near here, was destroyed in a late-night fire on Thursday.
Semporna Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief, Madzlan Sarman, said they received an emergency call at 11.30pm via MERS999.
He said they faced some difficulty because there was no access to the house about 6.5km from BBP.
However, a team of six officers and members and two machines deployed to the location managed to control the fire at 12.10am.
“The operation team used a 200-foot stream with a water source fountain from the machinery tank,” he said, adding that the operation ended at 12.22am.
Madzlan said the 30 by 30 square feet non-permanent house was 100 per cent destroyed.
He said no injuries or casualties were reported in the incident, while the cause of the fire and the loss were still under investigation.
