KENINGAU: A 75-year-old man sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle collision involving a Proton Saga and a Ford Ranger in front of SJKC Yuk Kong here on Wednesday afternoon.
The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call regarding the road accident at 3.30pm and dispatched eight personnel from the Keningau Fire and Rescue Station to the scene located six kilometres away.
The senior citizen, who was driving the Proton Saga, had been extracted from the vehicle by members of the public before fire personnel arrived at 3.37pm.
Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) personnel administered initial treatment to the victim at the scene before conveying him to the hospital in an EMRS vehicle for further medical attention.
Firefighters concluded the operation at 4.07pm after ensuring the area was completely safe, while details regarding the occupant of the Ford Ranger could not be obtained.
