Sheikh Jassim has been left unimpressed by the Glazer family's negotiating tactics over the sale of Manchester United.
El Pais says the Qatari thought he had clinched an agreement with the Glazers last month with an offer of 5.2bn.
But the Americans have since upped the valuation to 6bn, which shocked Jassim.
Indeed, he was so unimpressed he stepped away from talks for several weeks and considered walking away from the table.
However, he returned last week to make a new offer closer to the Glazer's price.
