Rameshwar Sharma, a Deputy Controller (Finance) with the Shimla Municipal Corporation (MC), allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself at his home in the city’s Mehli area on Friday. He had joined the MC as the Deputy Controller a few months ago on promotion.
According to a MC official, Sharma came to the office in the morning but took a half-day leave and went back home, where he reportedly committed suicide. The police are looking into the matter.
