
A FAMILY of four, including a 19-year-old teenage girl who is also the mother of a baby whose skeletal remains were found buried in a house in Kelemak, were remanded for four days starting today at the Alor Gajah Sessions Court.
In addition to the baby's mother, also remanded are the suspect's boyfriend, mother, sister and younger brother aged between 16 and 40.
The remand order was issued by Judge Kamarul Aris Kamalluddin until Sunday to assist in the investigation into the discovery of the baby's skeletal remains.
Melaka Police Chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar earlier said the suspects would be remanded to facilitate further investigations.
“The case is being investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code for concealing birth,” he said.
It was earlier reported that the skeletal remains of a baby believed to have been born about four months ago were buried in front of a house in Kelemak.
The residential area is relatively quiet, and the house is located opposite a vacant unit. – March 26, 2026
