Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS), Sohian, won an inter-school nukkad natak champion oragnised by the district administration in association with Aas Ehsaas, a non-governmental organisation (NGO).
The event, christened Bachpan Ki Awaaz – Inter-School Nukkad Natak Championship, was held at Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU).
Themed “Yudh Nashian Virudh”, the event saw enthusiastic participation from 10 schools, bringing together young voices to highlight the impact of drug abuse on the society.
Gunjeet Ruchi Bawa, vice-chairperson, Punjab Child Rights Commission; Poonam Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General); Mandy Sandhu, actor and singer; and Dimple Madaan, district education officer, were present at the event.
Along with the trophy, GSSS, Sohian, bagged a cash prize of Rs 11,000.
GSSS (boys), Dhaka, won the first runners-up trophy, along with Rs 5,100. GSSS, Tahli Sahib, was the second runners-up and bagged a cash prize of Rs 3,100.
