Twenty people have been injured when a tram derailed in eastern Berlin, the fire brigade said on Tuesday.
Three people sustained serious injuries in the accident in Berlin's Lichtenberg district, a spokesman said.
According to initial findings, the tram collided with an overhead line pole during a bend.
The right-hand side of the train was torn open and the rear carriage of the tram derailed, the fire brigade spokesman said.
Some 60 firefighters were deployed to the scene, and the power was temporarily cut off at the accident site, local tabloid B.Z. reported.
Traffic on the M5 and M7 tram lines was temporarily interrupted, with recovery of the derailed tram expected to take some time.
