SOOK: Residents will soon enjoy modern sports facilities with the full approval of the Sook District Sports Complex project under the 13th Malaysia Plan, following persistent efforts of Datuk Ellron Angin and strong support from the Chief Minister.
Ellron’s official representative, Jubilin, who is also the Sook Mukim Developer, recently led a site visit to assess the proposed location and identify technical and infrastructure requirements ahead of the groundbreaking.
The visit included Sook District Officer Caroline Benjamin Jiungan and officials from various government agencies.
“The project reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening sports development in rural areas,” Ellron said.
“This complex will become a hub for training, competitions, and youth talent development, opening doors for the younger generation to excel.”The complex will feature a covered mini stadium, football field, athletics track, and facilities for various other sports. It will also host community activities and official district events. Local residents have warmly welcomed the project, seeing it as a catalyst for social and economic growth.
Ellron emphasised that the project will be closely monitored to ensure smooth progress. “We want this complex to be completed successfully and become the pride of Sook’s people, symbolizing sporting progress in Sabah’s interior,” he said.
