Southwest monsoon to bring more rains in parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila from Friday to Sunday — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon is expected to bring more rains to parts of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Thursday.

"And because of the influence or effect of the southwest monsoon that we mentioned, we have a weather advisory up," Specialist John Manalo said in Filipino and English in the 5 p.m. public weather forecast.

Manalo said this meant that 50 to 100 millimeters (mm) of rainfall may be experienced in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, Benguet, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro.

Manalo also said that Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Zambales, and Bataan will experience "50 to 100 [mm] of rainfall from tomorrow afternoon to Saturday afternoon."

Pagasa added that 50 to 100 mm of rainfall can also be expected in Oriental Mindoro and Antique from Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon, with 100 to 200 mm of rainfall in Occidental Mindoro.

Pagasa said 50 to 100 mm of rainfall from Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon may be experienced in Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro.
