SOUTHERN Police District (SPD) operatives arrested five drug suspects in a buy-bust operation on Sunday in Barangay Central Bicutan, Taguig City, seizing over P1 million worth of suspected shabu.
Police investigation showed that operatives of the Taguig City police, led by Maj. Cecilio Tomas Jr., conducted the operation at about 2:40 a.m. at a residence along Villa Street, Barangay Central Bicutan.
An undercover officer acting as a poseur-buyer negotiated a drug deal, prompting backup team members to immediately move in, secure the drug den, and apprehend everyone inside.
The apprehended suspects were brought to the District Drug Enforcement Unit of the Southern Police District (DDEU-SPD) office for documentation.
Drug charges are being prepared against the suspects.
SPD director BGen. Glenn Oliver Cinco commended the operating personnel for the successful dismantling of the drug den and disruption of a major illicit drug supply network in the locality.
He lauded the team for their effective and coordinated operation, emphasizing the SPD’s continuing efforts to dismantle drug dens, apprehend high-value drug personalities, and safeguard communities from the threat of illegal drugs.
