SPM 2025 results highlight student resilience post-Covid-19, with improved performance driven by sustained support and education interventions.
PUTRAJAYA: The Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2025 cohort, which was among the earliest groups affected by the Covid-19 pandemic at the secondary school level, has demonstrated strong resilience in its academic performance, says Education director-general Datuk Dr Mohd Azam Ahmad.
He said the ministry continuously implemented intervention measures and policy adjustments to support teaching and learning recovery throughout the students’ schooling years.
“This cohort was among the earliest affected by Covid-19 when they entered secondary school. That is why we describe their journey with the word ‘resilience’,” he told reporters after the announcement of the SPM 2025 results today.
He added that the Education Ministry (KPM), State Education Departments (JPN) and District Education Offices (PPD) worked closely to coordinate strategic interventions based on key issues affecting schools, ensuring more effective delivery of education.
“All these efforts were carried out continuously, with ongoing communication between KPM and PPD, and strong support from the community,” he said.
He said the coordinated efforts helped strengthen students’ potential and improve learning outcomes despite the challenges brought about during the pandemic period.
