BEAUFORT: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) expanded its presence in southwest Sabah after 152 grassroots leaders and residents from Menumbok, Beaufort and Kuala Penyu joined the party.

The new members, drawn from various political backgrounds including Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Umno and Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan), were formally received at a ceremony attended by Beaufort parliamentary coordinator Jin Tze Vun, Beaufort Division chairman Aliapa Osman and Kuala Penyu Division chairman Jonas.

A spokesperson for the group said they were attracted by Star’s “Sabah First” platform and commitment to transparent and inclusive politics. “We believe that by joining Star, we can truly bring prosperity to the people of Sabah,” the spokesperson said.

In a statement, Star said the move underscored the party’s growing appeal and its ability to attract members from across the political spectrum. “Their participation is the best affirmation of our ideals and a powerful boost for our future development,” the party said.

The party reiterated its pledge to strengthen its grassroots network, engage local communities and invite more Sabahans to support its vision of a united and prosperous state.
