PARTI Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) will contest all 73 state seats in the upcoming 17th Sabah state election (PRN17), alongside other local parties that have chosen to go solo following their exit from Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).
STAR president Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan confirmed the decision following a meeting of the party’s Supreme Council, during which several key matters were finalised.
“The meeting confirmed the position of all five former STAR assemblymen and appointed interim leaders to fill vacancies left by outgoing division chiefs,” he said in a statement on Facebook on Friday.
“At the same time, STAR and other local parties are focused on contesting all 73 state constituencies,” he added.
Jeffrey also revealed that STAR will soon launch its ‘Justice for Sabah’ programme, with further details to be announced shortly.
STAR, along with Parti Maju Sabah (SAPP), had earlier declared their intention to leave the GRS coalition and contest the election independently. - October10, 2025
