KOTA KINABALU: Parti Gabungan Rakyat Sabah Youth Chief Datuk Fairuz Renddan stressed that state aid initiatives under Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor are based on mandate and responsibility, not imitation of past governments.

“Since when is helping the people considered copying others’ ideas? If you have nothing constructive, better stay silent than spread slander,” he said in a statement.

The Pintasan assemblyman said state assistance is not “political candy” for elections but an ongoing effort since GRS took office. He called it “insulting” for anyone to exploit public hardship for political attacks.

Fairuz highlighted various state education schemes such as the Sabah State Scholarship, Sabah Education Fund, SUBFLY, BUDI, BAIK and BISTARI, saying they reflect the government’s focus on human capital development.

He urged all parties to use social media responsibly, avoid slander, and uphold values of respect and integrity.
