
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Jafry Ariffin led the main committee of the 63rd State-Level Malaysia Day Celebration 2026 on a courtesy call to Head of State Tun Musa Aman at Istana Seri Kinabalu on Wednesday.
The visit was aimed at briefing the Head of State on the finalised programme and ongoing preparations for the state-level celebration scheduled for 16 September.
Jafry, who chairs the main committee, said the event serves as a vital platform for Malaysians to reflect on the nation’s formation, honour past struggles, and strengthen unity, patriotism, and togetherness.
He expressed gratitude to Tun Musa for receiving the delegation and sharing guidance to ensure the event runs smoothly, noting that coordination involves relevant ministries, departments, and agencies.
Calling on all Sabahans to join the upcoming festivities, Jafry said participating in the celebration reflects a shared commitment to the state and country in the spirit of Malaysia MADANI and Sabah Maju Jaya.
