
KOTA KINABALU: The State Government is considering a ban on the sale of pufferfish following a fatal poisoning case in Kota Marudu, said Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Jeffrey Kitingan.
Jeffrey, who is also Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry Minister, said that despite its high toxicity, pufferfish remains legal in Sabah and is freely sold in markets, with advertisements surfacing on social media in several districts.

Separately, the government has postponed a flood mitigation dredging project in Kampung Likas Lama after affected villagers raised relocation concerns.
