State-run PTV-4 eyes partnerships with ABS-CBN, GMA, TV5

MANILA, Philippines — State-run People’s Television Network (PTV-4) is exploring partnerships with GMA, ABS-CBN, and MediaQuest’s TV5 to "serve Filipinos better," its General Manager Lino Cayetano announced on Thursday.

In a statement, Cayetano said that three networks have reached out to help the government station.

He said that PTV Board, led by Chairman Victoria Recio, Vice Chairman Antonio Contreras, and Board Member Joji Alonso adopted a resolution authorizing him "to enter into partnerships with these media organizations to further advance our mandate."

"To serve Filipinos better and remain engaged and relevant in their lives, we need multiple stakeholders at the table, working alongside the already outstanding and hardworking men and women of PTV," Cayetano said.

"I thank the three largest media organizations—all held in high esteem and trusted by the Filipino people—for being part of PTV’s future," he added.
