Strong winds expected in northern peninsula from tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR – Strong westerly winds are expected to affect northern Peninsular Malaysia from Thursday until Sunday (Sept 27).

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in a post on X, said the situation could lead to the formation of a storm line, bringing thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds for a prolonged period in the affected areas.

At the same time, MetMalaysia said, citing the Asean Specialised Meteorological Centre (ASMC), that the number of hotspots remained high in Kalimantan, with the potential to cause haze and reduced visibility in western Sarawak during the forecast period.
