KOTA BHARU: The Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V, graciously donated two Brahman breed cows, weighing nearly one tonne each, in conjunction with the ‘korban’ Jama’ie (sacrificial ritual) programme of the Kelantan Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIK) 1447H/2026M
Also attending the programme held at the field of the Kompleks Islam Jubli Perak Sultan Ismail Petra field in Panji, here, were the Regent of Kelantan, Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Petra, and Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud.
MAIK deputy president Datuk Mohd Anis Hussein said that the two cows, along with 53 others, were slaughtered to be distributed to 1,400 asnaf groups through mosques in the city and districts around Kota Bharu.
“This sacrificial worship programme is one of MAIK’s efforts to promote Islamic teachings and strengthen community bonds by distributing sacrificial meat to those in need,” he said when met by reporters.
He also expressed his highest appreciation and gratitude to all contributors, including government agencies, statutory bodies and private entities, who supported this year’s successful sacrificial programme.
