Super Spikers overcome slow start, down Foxies in PVL semis

MANILA, Philippines —The Cignal Super Spikers shrugged off a slow start and dominated the Farm Fresh Foxies, 23-25, 25-14, 25-11, 25-12, at the start of the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference semifinals on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Erika Santos led the team in scoring with 21 points on 20 attacks and a block, while Vanie Gandler added 18 points.

While being in the semifinals is not new to the Cignal side,  Gandler believes that this time—her team is fortified by experience.

“Our key players left, and now we have added some more key players. We needed a bit of time to play together. But when it comes to the heart of Cignal… It is the accumulation of heartbreaks that we had before,” Gandler said.

Gel Cayuna added 16 excellent sets in the match, adding five points.

Tin Tiamzon made a double-double performance of 11 points, along with 13 excellent digs.

Farm Fresh was led by Trisha Tubu and Anne Monares, who scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.

The semifinals will be a round-robin format.

Teams are ranked using the FIVB Team Classification System, where the number of matches won, match points, set ratio, and point ratio will be considered.

The top two teams will advance to the best-of-three championship series, while the bottom two teams will battle it out for a third-place spot.
