KUALA LUMPUR – The grounds of the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex here were filled with supporters of former human resources minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan, today.
The situation was briefly tense at the complex’s main entrance after several individuals claimed they were not allowed to enter.
The atmosphere later returned to normal after court personnel allowed them into the premises a few minutes later.
Saravanan arrived at about 8.22am in a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), to chants of “Hidup Datuk Seri!” from his supporters.
The Tapah MP was escorted by several Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission officers and were greeted by cheers from his supporters.
Earlier, it was reported that Saravanan had confirmed he would be charged at the Sessions Court here on Friday.
He claimed the charge stemmed from statements made by a third party linking him to the recruitment of foreign workers during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2022.
