SHAH ALAM - The wife of former Sarawak governor Tun Taib Mahmud, Toh Puan Raghad Kurdi Taib has refuted allegations that she took him out of the hospital against medical advice.

In an Instagram post, she shared a handwritten nurse's note as proof, stating doctors were informed of her intention to bring him home and that discharge procedures were underway.

"That is not true," she said briefly on the social media post.

Taib was reportedly being treated at the Normah Medical Specialist Centre’s intensive care unit in Kuching.

According to a police report purportedly lodged by a doctor, Raghad allegedly removed all medications attached to Taib without alerting hospital staff late on Saturday.

He was then put in a wheelchair and brought out of the hospital.

Police had earlier confirmed receiving a police report on the matter.

Police are investigating the case under Section 336 of the Penal Code for rash or negligent acts that endanger human life or the personal safety of others.
