KOTA KINABALU: The Gagasan Rakyat Tanjung Aru team, led by Dr. Ritchie Jay Cheng, handed over snake-catching tools and safety equipment to the Tanjung Aru Baru village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) on Sunday.
The move follows several python sightings in the village, including an incident last month when a python measuring over three meters was spotted crossing the road at the Tanjung Aru Baru junction before being successfully captured using such equipment.
Dr. Ritchie also met with the village patrol unit to discuss enhancing community safety preparedness.
“To strengthen security, the JKKK has begun implementing periodic roadblocks on main routes to monitor unfamiliar vehicles and ensure continuous patrols,” he said.
He urged residents to cooperate by sharing information on security concerns, with the initiative aimed at safeguarding the community’s safety and well-being.
