TAWAU: A 22-year-old cafe worker lost fingers after her right hand got stuck in a meat grinder.

The woman was putting meat into the grinder to be made into burger patties when the accident happened around 1.50pm on Thursday.

It was learnt that she was pressing the meat down when her fingers went into the cutter part of the grinder.

Sabah Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director of Operations Kenneth Wilfred said they received a call about the incident at Taman Poh San.

He said the victim was then taken to the hospital for treatment while firemen ended their operations at the site at 3.20pm.
