TAWAU: An elderly couple and their daughter were tied up by three armed robbers at their home in Bandar Sri Indah, Batu 10, Jalan Apas, around 3am, on Friday.
Tawau District Deputy Police Chief Supt Champin Piuh said the victims, aged between 40s and 60s, who were tied using phone charger wires, did not suffer any injuries.
He said four grandchildren of the elderly couple were also in the house at the time of the incident.
“All the victims were sleeping before being woken up by the three masked men who broke in through the main door holding a machete.

Champin said the robbers made away with cash, jewellery, several mobile phones and two tablets worth a total of RM4,500.
“We are now hunting the suspects,” he said, adding the case is being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for armed robbery.
