
TAWAU: A man in his 30s was arrested at PPR Taman Sri Semarak around 10:30 AM on Monday for allegedly boiling and distributing 21 bottles of ketum juice, sold at RM20 each.
Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the suspect was caught resting in his living room during the raid. Police found 21 transparent 1.5L bottles of suspected ketum juice, totalling 31.2 litres and worth about RM350, hidden in two refrigerators.
He is being investigated under Section 30(3) of the Poisons Act 1952, which carries fines or imprisonment upon conviction. The suspect tested negative for drugs and has no prior criminal record.

He handed over 0.90 grams of syabu (methamphetamine) worth RM100 to police.
He also tested negative for drugs and has no criminal history. This case is being investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
