TAWAU: A 17-year-old boy pleaded guilty at the Magistrate’s Court on Monday to raping his 15-year-old girlfriend at a homestay here in July this year.
The boy, who was accompanied by his mother, made the plea after the charge against him was read before Magistrate Don Stiwin Malanjum.
He allegedly committed the offence against the female student at the homestay between 3.30pm and 6pm on July 22 this year.
He was charged with Section 375 (g) of the Penal Code and punishable under Sectioj 376 (1) of the same Code which carries a jail term of up to 20 years, and whipping, on conviction.
The court set 22 Oct this year for the next mention date in the Court For Children pending the probation report of the boy from the Welfare Department.
The boy was released on a bail of RM300 in a local surety either his parents or family members.
Prosecuting Officer ASP Nur Intan Jamrin appeared for the prosecution while the boy was counsel Jhassary P. Kang from the National Legal Aid Foundation (YBGK).
