MELAKA - The 2026 PKR National Congress should serve as a platform to close ranks, strengthen the party and regain the people’s trust, said the Prime Minister’s senior political adviser, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.
Tengku Zafrul, an ex-officio member of the PKR Political Bureau, urged all members to assess weaknesses, strengthen the organisation and ensure the party machinery operates more effectively, from the grassroots to the central leadership.
"The results of the recent state elections require us to engage in honest self-reflection. We may be disappointed with our partners in the Unity Government, but we cannot control other parties. What we can improve is our own party. So, let us focus all our efforts on strengthening the party.
"If the people have yet to see the results of what we have worked for, it is also our responsibility to communicate more clearly and effectively,” he said in a Facebook post.
At the same time, he said all party members must listen to the people’s grievances with an open heart and not be so preoccupied with responding that they forget to understand the actual problems.
"Listen, acknowledge what remains unresolved, then deliver,” he said. - BERNAMA
