
MANILA, Philippines — Terrafirma squandered an 18-point lead but recovered just in time in the extra period to hack out a 111-106 overtime win against defending champion TNT in the PBA Season 50 Governors’ Cup on Saturday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
The Tropang 5G managed to force the extension period after battling back from a double-digit deficit with Jordan Heading firing 25 of his team-high 29 points in the second half.
TNT still took a 104-98 lead in overtime, before Terrafirma knocked down four straight three-point bombs— two by Juami Tiongson, and one each from Joseph Eriobu and Maverick Ahanmisi to turn the tables against defending champion.
The Dyip moved up to 2-3, ending a styring of heartbreaks, while the Tropang 5G absorbed their second straight loss after opening the conference with a win against the Macau Giant Pandas.
Justin String led Terrafirma with 36 points,12 rebounds and six assists, to negative his nine turnovers.
Tiongson added 24, spiked by five triples, while Ahanmisi finished with 20, five rebounds and six assists.
Roger Pogoy scored 23 points, Rey Nambatac 19, while Kim Aurin 18.
Darius Days only had 10 points on 3-of-11 shooting.
