The follow-up meeting between TUSAS & Persatuan Aeroangkasa MyAeroSatu agreed that by combining the expertise and industrial weight of TUSAS with the core members of MyAeroSatu's aviation experiences and local industry networks, the collaboration can actively integrate Malaysian and Turkish Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) into the global OEM & technology aviation and defense supply chain. The dual-engine platform framework of TUSAS and MyAeroSatu can lead to Malaysian - Turkish SME Aerospace Collaboration Hub that encompass the Tier-2/Tier-3 Supplier Development (Avionics, Structures), Technology Transfer via Joint Engineering (Cyberjaya), MyAeroSatu project team management and Talent Development Pipeline (SKY Global Program).
TUSAS is the anchor and technology conduit as its engineering hub operates the first Southeast Asian Engineering and design office in Cyberjaya, serving as a bridge between Turkey and Malaysia. It provides local SMEs with access to high-value regional projects. MyAeroSatu recognized TUSAS actively engages with some domestic companies (primarily Tier-2 & Tier-3 suppliers). It elevates capabilities in electronics, metal manufacturing, machinery & software. Local partners contribute to high-tech systems like Hurjet jet trainer, ANNKA 3 stealth drone & training computers. Led by an executive committee, MyAeroSatu acts as the local industry connector. Chairman Prof Dr. Zulkifly Baharom said, “We interface directly with TUSAS management to align bilateral opportunities.”
MyAeroSatu Secretary Dzul Bahrin Asmawi, added that “The synergy between these two platforms unlocks clear pathways for both Malaysian and Turkish to scale up joint venture in advanced manufacturing. Turkish SMEs possessing mature manufacturing processes can partner with Malaysian SMEs to build local facilities. This supports TAI's broader plan to establish Malaysia as an Asia-Pacific hub for commercial and defense aviation. Instead of simple built-to-print manufacturing, Malaysian Tier-2/3 SMEs can co-design aerospace hardware alongside their Turkish partners.”
Prof Zulkifly suggested, “Under initiative like the SKY Global Internship Program, local universities and tech SME firms build a pipeline professionals. This creates a pool of engineering talents that both Turkish and local Malaysian SMEs can leverage for collaborative projects.”
