Footballing superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner of 10 years Georgina Rodríguez married on Tuesday in a low-key ceremony in Cascais, a year to the day after he proposed.
While the wedding may have been low-key, the ring that started it all is anything but.
Georgina announced the engagement on Instagram on 11 August 2025, posting a photo of her ring-bearing hand and with the caption: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives."
That was more than a year ago. The mysterious ring has been dissected by jewellers ever since - and nobody still quite knows exactly what's on Georgina's finger. Here's what experts have said.

The size question
Most experts agree on the shape: a large oval-cut centre stone.
The carat count is where things vary. One estimate puts the diamond at over 22 carats. Another goes higher, suggesting a range of 25 to 30 carats.
Anna Whiting, general manager of Australian jeweller Cushla Whiting, told ELLE Australia the stone was "estimated to be over 25 carats."
Jewellery influencer Julia Hackman Chafé of JewelsWithJules estimated the centre stone in the three-stone ring to be a 35-carat, D-colour, flawless diamond.
Heritage Auctions specialist Kristian Spofforth gave Forbes the most staggering figure of all: approximately 50 carats. Yes, 50.
The designer question
This remains another unanswered question. The designer behind the ring has never been officially confirmed.
The price question
Nobody can quite agree on this either. Estimates for the ring's value have ranged from around $2 million (€1.7 million) up to more than $10 million (€8.6 million), depending on who's asked.
Forbes/Heritage Auctions puts it at around $3 million.
Page Six Style put the figure between $2 million (€1.7 million) and $5 million (€4.3 million), floating the possibility of a flawless D-colour stone as large as 30 carats.
A jeweller consulted by ELLE Australia offered a wider band still - up to $6 million AUD, or roughly $2–4 million USD (€1.7–3.4 million) - depending on the diamond's clarity, cut and colour.
Even at the more conservative estimates, Georgina's ring is undoubtedly alongside the biggest celebrity rocks of the last two decades. It's up there with Mariah Carey's 35-carat emerald-cut diamond ring from billionaire James Packer, Kim Kardashian's 15-carat Lorraine Schwartz design, and Jeff Bezos's 30-carat pink diamond for Lauren Sánchez.
In summary: it's an absolutely enormous diamond, with a enormous price tag, with absolutely no consensus.
