We spend a lot of time attempting to comprehend other people. Their thoughts, feelings, and expectations. However, when was the last time you truly took a seat and made an effort to comprehend who you are?
not the version that is visible to the public. The actual you.
It's not as simple as it seems to know yourself. Because we don't always want to confront our inner selves. Our flaws, our fears, the things we attempt to conceal. But the truth is that if you don't know where you stand, you can't grow.
It began with easy questions for me.
"What do I excel at?"
"What gives me confidence?"
"What wears me out?"
Next, the most difficult ones:
"What are my shortcomings?"
"What am I trying to avoid?"
"Why am I feeling this way?"
It was uncomfortable at first. since the responses weren't always pleasant. That's the point, though. Understanding oneself is the goal of self-awareness, not passing judgment.
Many individuals believe that having flaws is something to be embarrassed of. To be honest, though, they are only regions that require attention. That's all. Nothing more.
What are your strengths? You have those tools. the characteristics that define who you are. the things that will enable you to advance in life.
The problem is, most of us focus too much on what we lack, and we forget what we already have.
Try balancing it, then.
If you know you’re not confident in something, work on it. slowly. But at the same time, don’t ignore your strengths. Make use of them. Build on them. Allow them to lead you.
Finally, quit relying too much on approval. People can guide you, yes. However, they are unable to define you.
You are the only one who can do that.
Self-discovery is a journey. It takes time for it to happen. As you develop, you will continue to learn new things about yourself.
But once you get going, everything is different.
Because you stop questioning every action you take when you have a true understanding of who you are.
And that's where genuine confidence starts.
