The rakyat watching a video clip that went viral nationwide of Zahid naming five from UMNO-BN leaders likely to be charged would like to know details of what and why!
For instance, what are the charges, or the reasons why they would be charged?
DAP veteran leader Lim Kit Siang had the same idea when he called for further clarification on Zahid Hamidi's controversial 'waiting list' speech during the 76th MIC general assembly last Monday.
He questioned whether the five named by Zahid would be charged and what they will be charged for.
Further he wanted a clarification as to the probability whether the 'Umno-Barisan Nasional Five' named at the MIC Assembly would be charged in court or not. Or was it only just a figment of Zahid's imagination?
"Furthermore, if the 'Umno-Barisan Nasional Five' are on the 'waiting list' to be charged in court, what will they be charged for? Whose 'waiting list' was Zahid talking about?" Asked Lim. Malay Mail: Kit Siang questions truth behind Zahid's five Umno-BN leaders on.
The video showed Zahid naming his deputy Mohamad Hasan, Hishammuddin Hussein, MCA president Wee Ka Siong, MIC president S.Vigneswaran and and his deputy M. Saravanan as potentials for political prosecutions should their coalition lose in the coming general election (GE15).
However, Wee Kah Siong rebutted the allegation by Lim Kit Siang saying that any “reasonably sane” listener of speech by Zahid Hamidi would know that the latter was only joking.
But it did not sound like a joke to us!
In addition, Wee also said that after all, the UMNO president was only insinuating that selective or political persecution awaits BN should Opposition emerge victorious in the upcoming General Election (GE15). Later, when clarifying his speech to the press, Zahid himself accused his poitical rivals of "spinning” his warning to fellow politicians in BN-UMNO coalition.
In addition, Zahid said his speech was to point out that BN leaders might face selective or political persecutions if they return to become the Opposition.
But, the lingering question is why should they be prosecuted if they did nothing wrong?
Why the need to insinuate or instil fear in leaders of your own coalition just to win election if there was indeed no real truth in it?
However, the rakyat sharing the video on line has nothing good to say about a "veiled threat" they suspected was in the speech directed at those mentioned obviously contained some truths on how these leaders have been conducting their business throughout their political career.
But most of all, the rakyat now believe speculations that Zahid and his fellow politicians demanded an early election and wanted to win it desperately because they intended to avoid going to jail for their criminal offences.
So, the sooner the rakyat is enlightened the better it would be for everyone now that the election is around the corner.
But in any case, the damage is already done. The electorate may no longer have faith in Zahid and his cronies, no matter what they do or say from now on.
That video has wiped out what little belief they had in Zahid and his BN-UMNO coalition.
This incident has confirmed the obvious that a hastily scheduled election by UMNO-BN is to suit the convenience of politicians at the expense of the rakyat.
You the voter should know what you would need to do when you are in the voting booth. Just put an end to this charade!
