A customer was recently left dissatisfied at a supermarket that allegedly sold subsidised cooking oil in polybags to foreigners.

The video which was posted by user nanmanjoi8715 on the social media platform X, showed a customer calling out to a supermarket cashier after he witnessed a couple of foreigners purchasing the cooking oil in polybags.

Among the lines that he said to the cashier in the video were, “Didn’t your boss tell you that this (subsidised cooking oil) cannot be sold to foreigners?”, and “ this is only for Malaysians.”

The same questions were thrown to the supervisor of the supermarket that came to check up on the commotion.

His actions gained multiple praises from people from X for speaking up to the problem.

X user @fitriiiiiimn said the targeted subsidies should be implemented as in some cases, Malaysians themselves could not obtain the subsidised products.

@faisalmazlan111, another X user, appreciated the effort to call them out, but also acknowledged that these actions often occur away from everyone's view.
