
TAWAU: Fire razed three houses at the Kg Kurnia Jaya squatter settlement along Mile 4, Jalan Apas on early Friday.
Tawau Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief, Jemishin Ujin said 16 personnel including officers in two vehicles were deployed after receiving the 1.35am distress call via MERS999.
He said the firemen found that three non-permanent houses were destroyed when they arrived.
“They used a stream of two jets sourced from the fire engine.

Jemishin said that no casualties were reported while the cause of fire and losses are still under investigation.
