LAHAD DATU: Three men were injured after a Toyota Vigo four-wheel-drive vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a ravine about 20 feet deep at KM13, Jalan SMK Segama, early Sunday.

The Fire and Rescue Department received the emergency call at 1.02am and arrived at the scene about 10 minutes later.

All three victims were trapped inside the vehicle and were rescued using road traffic accident (RTA) equipment.

Firefighters used ropes and stretchers to bring the victims up to the roadside before handing them over to the Health Ministry for further treatment at the hospital.

The operation, involving nine Lahad Datu FRD personnel with assistance from police and medical teams, ended at 2.17am after the area was confirmed safe.
