Kota Kinabalu: Three men acted swiftly to rescue a female doctor after the car she was driving plunged into a large drain along Jalan Lintas Kepayan here on Tuesday morning, Info X reported.
The incident, which occurred at about 7am, is believed to have happened when the Perodua Myvi driven by the victim was travelling from Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) towards Lido before hitting the rear of a tow truck.
The impact caused the vehicle to lose control, veer into the opposite lane and plunge into a large roadside drain.
The tow truck driver, who noticed the incident, immediately got down to assist and attempted to call out to the victim but received no response.
Three men who happened to pass by then jumped into the drain and managed to pull the victim out of the vehicle, which was nearly submerged, before she was sent to hospital for further treatment.
