
MetMalaysia forecasts heavy rain and strong winds across nine states, including multiple districts in Perak, Selangor, and Sarawak, until late afternoon.
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a thunderstorm warning for nine states, forecasting heavy rain and strong winds until 5pm today.
Affected areas in Kedah include the district of Baling, while in Perak, the warning covers Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim.
The alert also extends to Pahang, specifically Cameron Highlands and Bentong, as well as several districts in Selangor including Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Hulu Langat.
In Negeri Sembilan, the warning is for Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, Rembau and Tampin, with the entire state of Melaka also affected.
Johor’s districts of Muar and Tangkak are included in the forecast for severe weather conditions this afternoon.
In East Malaysia, Sarawak’s affected areas include Kuching, covering Bau and Kuching, Serian, Samarahan’s Simunjan, Sri Aman, Betong, Mukah, covering Tanjung Manis and Daro, and Kapit, covering Song and Belaga.
The warning for Sabah covers the Interior districts of Beaufort and Nabawan, along with the West Coast areas of Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud.
