Thunderstorms, heavy rain expected to hit seven states until 9pm

KUALA LUMPUR - The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in seven states until 9pm tonight.

MetMalaysia in a statement announced that the states affected are Kedah (Sik and Baling) and Perak (Hulu Perak and Batang Padang).

Similar conditions are also expected to hit Terengganu (Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu and Marang) as well as Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Jerantut, Maran, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin).

In Johor, the affected areas are Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru.

In Sarawak, the bad weather affects Kuching, Serian, Samarahan (Samarahan and Asajaya), Sarikei (Sarikei and Meradong), Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah (Tanjung Manis and Daro), Kapit (Kapit, Bukit Mabong and Belaga), Bintulu (Tatau and Sebauh), Miri and Limbang.

Meanwhile, in Sabah, the affected areas are the Interior (Sipitang and Tambunan), West Coast (Tuaran and Ranau), Tawau (Lahad Datu), Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan and Beluran) and Kudat (Pitas). - BERNAMA
