TikTok Shop, Tekun celebrate local entrepreneurs in KB carnival

KOTA BELUD: Five Sabah-based TikTok Shop entrepreneurs were awarded the Sabah Aspiring Entrepreneur Award 2025 at the Tekun Madani Carnival at Dewan Kadamaian Square.

Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick presented the awards in recognition of Tekun entrepreneurs who excelled in digital entrepreneurship through the TikTok Shop platform.

Ewon said the awards celebrate digital entrepreneurial spirit and adaptability to online marketing trends, while encouraging innovation and healthy competition.

“This also proves the commitment of both parties in empowering the local entrepreneurial community,” he said after the award presentation ceremony held on Thursday.

Sharphinosbrand, Queyun Tuhau, Sambal Menaq, and Atiya Hijab received the Sabah Aspiring Entrepreneur Award, while Kita Shop Sabah clinched the Sabah Star Award 2025 for top overall performance.

Sharphinosbrand clinched the Sabah Aspiring Entrepreneur Award 2025 after running over 140 live sessions between March and April.

Queyun Tuhau followed with over 300,000 interactions through live broadcasts and short videos, while Sambal MENAQ garnered 170,000 views from just two videos.

Atiya Hijab stood out for producing more than 100 videos in two months, while Kita Shop Sabah bagged the Sabah Star Award 2025 for top overall performance, including highest sales and over 4,000 units sold.

Ewon emphasised that this three-day carnival initiative, featured business exhibitions, live selling, traditional games and entrepreneurship coaching aimed at bridging the rural digital divide.
